Uhh… this month’s update is late because the election was last Tuesday and the result was so disappointing I couldn’t function, already on weeks of anxiety and poor eating and sleeping… I couldn’t draw anything even if I did have an idea, which I didn’t, so I just kept putting it off. This month’s final layout is just a sticker collage from non-fanart or original artwork from artists and small businesses, nothing related to anything I cosplayed. I did make an attempt to draw Generation 1 Starscream’s jet form based on a figure I bought, lol, as Transformers was the only thing keeping me sane last month/this month… (And well, I don’t know if you can really cosplay Transformers unless your parents made you a cardboard costume as a child, but I suppose anything is possible, well, it would be possible before we get Trump in office again… *tries to not cry*)
I will make an attempt to describe the layout in detail but I’m just so depressed, I’m forgetting everything lol. The theme for this month is somber muted desaturated grays and browns and purples to depict the transition from the growth of summer to the hibernation of winter. I did not add any fanart elements, except the sketch of Starscream (who is possibly the opposite of somber and mute and desaturated lol). All of the washi tapes and bunny calendar stickers on the left side are from Daiso, the purple/black stickers from Japanese illustrator Yoh’s Monochrome World, the random “grateful” sticker for Thanksgiving (I don’t feel grateful) is from Joann’s. The right side has a background of scrapbook paper with stickers/washi tape from:
Kiriska
Miss Danger
Koyamori
Violet Fane
uhhh… 3 are from some markets and artist alleys but their names escape me
Shattered-earth
more Daiso and craft store stickers
Anyway, if you can’t tell from this post and the previous PC set up post, I am finally running out of decor ideas that I have enough stuff of, but I’m reluctant to just buy random stuff for the sake of decorating, especially since I use my bullet journal as a diary more than a planner and I should probably reign in buying stuff when my house needs a good decluttering. So I have sheets of planner stickers but I never use them, or all the other stickers I end up buying are too big for my calendars, no other fandoms to draw from, a crowded house I’m too lazy to clean out and make space for new stuff… It’s a dilemma. I hope I come up with a solution soon, until then, stick around for my next blog posts which hopefully will be less depressing (doubt it).
