Meta's Cyber Neon Girl black jumperskirt coord on a mannequin, complete with tote bag and handmade jewelry

[fashion] Cyber Neon Girl for summer ILD

A few weeks late, but here is my coord for summer International Lolita Day June 6, 2026! That day we planned to triplet Metamorphose Cyber Neon Girl the black colorway, me with my 2 friends at the local art market near my house. We had fun getting photos with the adorable camp backgrounds, and got compliments from attendees and vendors. Obviously we didn’t match the market’s summer night camp theme that much, but the print was based on night time lights and uh there were animals on it, so yeah, it works.

Here is a selfie of me wearing on ILD itself, in front of one of the camp backdrops. I was too lazy to wear the whole outfit again for a bathroom shot, so I took a photo of most of the coord on the mannequin, minus the rings, hair clips and shoes, and of course, star/moon/jewel glitter black nails that I did the night before ILD which almost survived the whole day lol.

[jumperskirt, hairclip, socks, hairband: Metamorphose Temps de Filles; t-shirt: The Black Ribbon; enamel pins, rings: various artists; bag: Lois Besch via Redbubble; necklace: handmade by Tottemo Ii; bracelets: handmade by me; sneakers: Liz Lisa; hairclips: off-brand?]

I technically didn’t have a coordinating shirt or shoes but I prioritized comfort for walking around the art market for hours, so this screenprint t-shirt with puff sleeves made of black cotton was the ideal solution, as well as my black Liz Lisa platform sneakers with sparkle jewel chains. I also didn’t buy a matching headdress, just the two-way clip, but I got the genius idea to take the swan badge pin off the clip and stick it on a red ribbon Alice hairband, and it looks so cute and matching without being too overstimulating on my head. I didn’t know what else to do with the bow clip so I clipped it to my shoulder strap. The glittery plastic necklace was made by my friend and I added the Kuromi neon keychain to it for another perfect on-theme match (we all had different Sanrio character neon keychains to go with our favorite colors.) I also handmade a few stretchy bracelets from plastic beads, including a pink/purple/black/red one with the letters “META”. My rings were big chunky resin glitter rings of pink and purple roses and stars from artists and friends, and I attached Daft Punk and fox mask enamel pins to the various straps for more customization. Apparently I didn’t have that much neon-themed accessories on hand, but I made the coord work with this neon-bright Lady Gaga tote bag I got from Rose Besch via Redbubble years ago. And I gotta carry Starscream with me, so this time I put him in a coffin shaped doll bag from Ateez merch, and I added some red roses and a little card to fill it out, and people also commented on him lol.

Of course the best part about this coord is after I’m done for the day, unzipping myself out of the dress with the full-length front zipper. Best feeling ever!

Despite not having a bunch of neon colored stuff to wear because neon rainbows are not my usual colors, I think this final coord with the handmade jewelry could not be any better or more on point! I love Meta’s crazier prints but this one they really outdid themselves, with the QR code on the print that leads to their website and the random straps and unusual non-lolita accessories (bomber jacket, leg-warmers). Cyber/punk lolita is rare because it’s hard to pull off and make it look typically lolita, add rainbow neon colors on top of that and that sounds like it would be a disaster, but once again Meta breaks all boundaries and made a tastefully fun series that no one can deny is 100% lolita. Shout out to my friends for paying big money to reserve this dress with the tariffs and then wearing it with me in the summer, I mean, I think we all would have bought it anyway because it’s awesome and reminds us of our time in Tokyo, but we purposefully planned to triplet it, too and this art market on ILD was basically invented for the opportunity.
