Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates, and happy new year to all! Time for the end of the year art reviews.
Starting off with art vs artist, which I hadn’t done since 2021, so 3 grueling years later, here is my latest collage. Lethal facecard as the kids say. I tried to choose a photo of myself that most closely resembled what I look like in real life, but I obviously don’t wear the star-shaped glasses to see, and maybe I have a fake fringe on, don’t remember, cuz I’m old and it shows. The other artworks are just whatever I finished this year, which isn’t a lot, so a few will be repeated in my end of the year survey lol. I think I will do these every few years since I don’t change my personal style a lot, unless I get a major haircut/haircolor next year.

Now for 2024 yearly art summary with a piece from each month, which I managed to complete with heavy lifting from my monthly bullet journal decorating using traditional media fanart lol. Be sure to check my bullet journal tags for all bullet journal fanarts. The rest are portraits for art markets and gifts, and uh, 2 Transformers fanarts for me. I dunno what’s going to happen next year when I don’t plan to make a new monthly spread for each month, I’m just using a mini planner from Flower Knows, no space for decoration. Okay, I will make a list of character portraits to draw for fandom button badges even though I don’t plan on vending at markets any more, and just knock one off the list each month. Template is from Moa on bluesky here!
As usual, my yearly art goals are to complete at least 1 piece a month to an acceptable level of finished, and to study one new tutorial and implement that skill into my art. Which hmm… I didn’t really do an art tutorial this year, at least from what I remember… But I used new techniques for my cosplay and sewing so I’ll just count that instead so I have a win somewhere.
Here’s to 2025, which is a science fiction year, and the will to continue to create and share art because well, this horrible world needs art… …Yay!
