I drew these fellas as button badges/stickers to give away or trade for the January Lantern Rite festival, but I just uploaded the images now in March lol. Even though Genshin characters are drawn in a simple anime style that is similar to my preferred drawing style, I had so much trouble drawing these three for some reason. I guess I was out of practice.
Tighnari and Cyno were drawn for my friend who was meeting me at the festival and who loves these husbands, I do not have either of them. I felt like I drew Tighnari all right, experimented with his skintone but kept it the on model colors to print out, though his pose is kind of boring compared to the others. Cyno I tried to draw a better pose, but his helmet and the complexity of his costume gave me trouble, I know I got the angles wrong. At least my friend liked them, that’s the important part!
There is another Genshin fan convention in August, the Windblume Festival, for which I am doubting I will attend since I already went last year and this year’s event is relocated on the other side of the metroplex, the more conservative side, in the summer heat. In fact a lot of the conventions I used to go to have canceled or moved to another city’s downtown that I really don’t want to drive to and also pandemic. I don’t blame them for trying to save money in these tough economic times, but I think I will stick to attending the local 1 day art markets and comic shows that are 5 minutes from my house and free or cheap to enter and park at. So unless I find a really good reason to go to actual cons that override my desire to stay home and avoid the plagues, I think I’m done with cons for the foreseeable future, and will have no reason to draw fanart to “sell” (not that I ever sold much of my fanart but you know what I mean), and don’t have to get arthritis drawing any more of these insanely complicated Genshin costumes lol. That being said, I still want to eventually finish a couple of cosplays just because I enjoy dressing up.
