[fanart] January 2026 bullet journal monthly layout

Here is January’s monthly layout. It was actually finished the first week of January but I didn’t want to make 2 back to back bullet journal posts so I waited until I finished another post in the meantime. This month’s theme is Transformers! Which I got back into since fall of 2024 when the Transformers One movie came out for the 40th anniversary of Transformers. I don’t need to say that Starscream voiced by Steve Buscemi is my favorite character (a lot of them are my favorites though lol), so I made a theme just for him and also I had the most stationary of him somehow lol.

[mixed media, 2026]
This layout is made possible by mostly local Transformers artists, specifically plushisheep from whom I initially bought Overwatch stickers from and now I get all of their Starscream merch. As usual, I make the biggest possible calendar for the month on the left hand side and compose a collage mixed media fanart drawing if possible on the right hand side, what I did in 2024. I do not make aesthetic spreads for the weeks, I work a full time job and don’t have time for all that, and so this journal is purely functional to use up my washi tapes and stickers and draw traditional media art once a month. Anyway, plushisheep supplied the Starscream washitape, the #1 Star stamp, and the tiny chibi Elite Trine which I cut out of a notepad. I got the starscape washi tape and plain star and dialogue stickers from Daiso and Michaels. The blue technology background and red spider lily flower stickers are from a taobao reseller on Etsy (diwatacrafts). Interesting note, Starscream is called “Red Spider” in the Chinese translation, no idea why as he doesn’t have a spider motif unlike many transformer characters that have actual insect traits, but that just means I can use these awesome hell red spider lily stickers that have gold sparkles and pearls and crystals interspersed for ultimate aura. The gold foil shooting star stickers not from Daiso are deco stickers from a kawaii goods shop at the mall. The chibi crowned Starscream sticker was linked in the 2025 last quarter post. The title was handlettered and pasted over a piece of foil galaxy stamp washi tape from Shattered Earth because I made a mistake or something there. I also used a stamp letter set from Michaels to stamp out All Hail Starscream!

On the right side is a drawing of my Transformers One Blokees figure in ink and marker. That’s when I realized drawing robots traditionally sucks but I embraced the wobbly crooked lines as part of the uhh handmade charm, or whatever. The background was made from a piece of ancient construction paper from when I was in elementary school that I never threw out even though I should have, colored over with alcohol markers and decorated with ink stars for a starscape because I couldn’t find any galaxy paper at Daiso. As mentioned the spider lily flowers are from Diwatacrafts, and the other gold foil stickers are from Daiso. I should probably glue the drawing down better but I can’t find my gluestick anywhere and I fucked up my glue tape dispenser, need to buy a new one.

Anyway, I love this layout even though it’s a little crazy and full of primary colors up in your face, but I got to draw my favorite diva Seeker Starscream, so it’s special and beautiful and I would change nothing about it. If you know anything about Starscream, I recommend watching this video animatic created by a single fanartist Zeropro Studio who clearly loves Starscream even more than myself, which was posted at the beginning of the year and inspired me to attempt to draw robots as well even though I’m terrible at it.
