[gaming] Fire Emblem Three Times the RageQuit – episode 4 ragequit thrice

Welcome to episode 4 of Fire Emblem Three Times the Ragequit where I actually ragequit 3 times even though I said I was gonna be cool and let it go.

1. Blazing Blades – this battle at the next destination introduced the pegasus knight and an archer against yet even more bandits. Cool, I thought, I vaguely remember the power dynamics of the flying knights and I know how to use the archer from the other games that introduced the archer earlier in the prologue. Well, I was not familiar with the AI’s game, and the computer killed Florina 3 times and almost killed one of the other mounted knights again! I had to retry 3 times over the course of 2 days. All 3 games were set to easy and this was still the prologue/tutorial for this game! The only thing I can think of is that I expected the computer to spread out their attacks but they mobbed me instead, and then when I expected them to mob me, they stayed out of range, forcing my weaker units out to the front. I also got money but where to spend it, I didn’t find out before I turned the game off.

2. Awakening – I immediately played this after the hardwon victory lol. Here was the introduction to Chrom and Lissa’s family/status, the rest of the shepherd units at camp, then it was off to fighting more zombies outside the city. A bunch more characters joined the battle and there was a tutorial for trade function. I learned my lesson and played more defensively since I had a good portion of weaker units mixed with stronger units, but that meant it took longer to get through since I could no longer advance recklessly and had to have a healer nearby constantly protected. There were a lot of hearts shared. I forgot who was the VIP (oops I mean MVP but they mean the same thing to me lol) but I think it was Chrom and myself.

3. Three Houses – this was the practice battle between the three houses and set 5 of Blue Lions versus 5 each of the other houses and their instructors. The battle menu options are much more complex upfront compared to the other games, including the unit setup stage, but I disregarded all that, that was a problem for future me. Straight to battle I went. Every character talked quite a bit before, after, and during the combat, and before dying, especially the warlords (the main characters that you can’t kill until the story says it’s time for them to die), and it was very entertaining but I could see how this chatter would get suuuuuper annoying later on. I like the voice acting though, most of the characters were done well. The actual battle wasn’t too hard since I played defensively and advanced very slowly and tried to keep everyone together to use their special bond advantages, but I had to use Mercedes to heal until she used up all of her spells and then had to use vulneraries. Also I was told to use a detour and I was like… what detour…? I figured it out eventually. The VIP (oops I mean MVP but they mean the same thing to me lol) was Dimitri, not Mercedes lol.

Anyway… this better be the last time someone dies in the prologue… for the game’s sake. But I think it will not be, I think I will be aiming for a flawless game until the very end because that’s my personality lmao. Note, I will be on vacation this weekend, so I will probably only do one more log this week.

In other news, Fire Emblem Three Houses Fifth anniversary was this week, so I saw fanart shared on my twitter following page, as many artists and other folks I followed are gamers especially for the 3 Houses era. I think there might be some new merch, maybe? Anyway, here is one animation that was shared that I bookmarked.
