I’m late yet again, but I want to do a summary of 2022 and let you know what I’ve been up to and why I didn’t update this website like I said I was going to in 2021 lol.
2022 was the year in which people decided against all evidence that the pandemic was over. I did a little bit of travel because family, visited friends a few times and went to a handful of art markets and cons. Despite less than 50% of people masking, I managed to stay relatively healthy (knock on wood) because I never took my mask off until I had to eat or if I was hiking in the middle of nowhere with my family. I did wear lolita and other J-fashions and worked on a cosplay but didn’t really finish the costume lol, and I dabbled in a few other hobbies like playing my violin, making resin jewelry, getting my exercise through “Just Dance” and painting with acrylic paints. What took up most of my year was working on my home and trying (but failing) to grow some plants like pepper plants. Completely influenced by youtubers, I vamped up my PC computer workstation to a true gamer hag haven with pink Razer accessories and then changed the decor with the seasons to give me a happy place to game after work. I also redecorated my home for the one time I had guests over and made use of some of the weeb and fandom artwork and accessories I collected over the years. Besides cleaning, which is both painful and endless, I think I finally reached a good stopping point regarding my home decor, so I am eager to get back to my arts and crafts and game creation.
Here is the 2022 art survey, just to show you how much I procrastinated even on things I wanted to do. I skipped 2 whole months, a total of 60 days in which I couldn’t even manage to draw a sketch lol. Two of the other months I only had paintings done, but they were at least fun to do.
Now for the site “progress”. As I mentioned last year, I was reluctant to migrate my blogs over because the majority of the old entries were outdated or embarrassing, but I still would like to archive those memories because my brain is not working so well anymore. Some months ago, I researched how to migrate the blog entries into a subdomain but as you can guess, it was difficult to decipher and I gave up. Then I tried to set up a newsletter through the domain provider because of the multiple twitter scares (thanks Elon), but I also couldn’t figure it out! Am I getting stupid in my old age??? Finally I figured out how to set up the portfolio galleries so I have a little bit of hope again lol. My 2023 goals regarding this site are: creating a cohesive graphic design or logo across all of my sites, figure out the webshop/blog migration/newsletter and try to get at least one of those parts up, resume work on my video games, and remember to post once a month to my ko-fi so I have all 12 months filled for 2023’s art survey. Let’s go!
