I managed to finish a quick PC setup for Halloween/autumn, and this theme is now Liu Qingge and Scum Villain Self Saving System by MXTX. Well, it was supposed to be quick, but actually took me like two and a half days lol. I decorated slightly differently than before and also had arthritis so it took me a while to tear down my Liushen shrine and move it to my PC.
I haven’t watched or read danmei for almost a year because I was into Transformers last year, and before that I was sort of in Genshin but not really. I still have a danmei shrine setup for the other two MXTX books, MDZS and TGCF, but I felt it was time to take down my Liushen shrine. Rest in power to a real one. This is my one last goodbye to Liu Qingge (and the other characters in SVSSS) then they will be consolidated into the other two bookshelf shrines.
First off, I want to mention all of the official Liu Qingge merch I bought once the donghua came out, including: the official plush doll, the chibi action figure in box, the big sparkly keychain, the small candy bag keychain, the clear acrylic card, the rubber strap keychain, the button badge and not one, but two acrylic stands. I framed the packaging of the keychain lol. I think I have basically all of the official merch ever made (and if season 2 never comes out, probably all that will ever be made), other than the official cosplay. Yes, they’re all made from only 3 different official artworks, we’re starving here.
Next, the Liu Qingge fanart, which consists of ummm… my fanart button badge, the custom nendoroid doll, and the “you can smooch… once” acrylic keychain from Quel (bluesky).
Of course, the most fanmerch I have is of Liu Qingge/Shen Qingqiu (the main character) because I bought the fanzine that was released a few years ago. The stuff that came with the zine includes: a sticker sheet, a small enamel pin, a large acrylic stand, a double-sided keychain of just each character, a double-sided keychain of both, and a print, and at least 2 diecut chibi stickers. And a gold metal bookmark with charm. This was an international effort and I am honored and pleased to have grabbed a bundle.
Next, some random Liushen fanart from online sellers (most of which are early releases pay for production, aka very cheap, I didn’t bother with for-profit merch) including Velinxi (insta) who illustrated the English translation of the novel covers and also sold a medium size print and a sticker, and Megchan (insta) who made 2 diecut stickers and 2 prints with horsies, love them. The other print and sticker is from Djuney9. One of the acrylic keychains is from carm (insta) and the other is from… uh oh, I think it’s defragmentise but not sure. (bluesky).
Now for fanart that had Liu Qingge somewhere lol. Square prints of Liu Qingge and Yang Yixuan and also his sister Liu Mingyan and Sha Hualing are by Lycheeluv (insta) I believe. The planner sticker sheet was also by Carm, and the fan club print is by soursoppi (insta) (who also made the animal stickers). The official extra sticker sheet is by foxy joy I think… (insta)
Finally, the random Scum Villain merch (mostly Bingqiu, the main couple) included because I was too lazy to take out, some of the official extra postcards and posters are by Velinxi and Quel, I also have one by Megchan framed (not official merch). I recently bought a Bingqiu print from Limonmaid (etsy) and from stoic egg (insta), and also the hilarious Shang Qinghua noodles tag which you can’t even see is from Toastylibertea (insta). Also notice the official Shen Qingqiu folding fan, that was tricky to hang up but I love how it looks different from the usual prints and keychains. I do have a few more official merch and fanmerch from Scum Villain but I felt this was an acceptable amount here, especially since I wanted to highlight Liu Qingge and the newer fanarts I haven’t looked at enough yet.
The florals are almost the same as various previous fall setups with blue and purple blossoms behind the monitor and then red/orange/yellow foliage in the vase. I think I bought some extra greenery, like the plastic willow branch and fern leaves, and I scattered red and pink rose petals over the water deskmat to symbolize the pool in the infamous succubus extra. Unfortunately I forgot to change out the cherry blossoms and wisteria vines from the previous setup, but I also don’t really have anything to replace it with, so it’s fine. I did get a spooky fake candle from Daiso, and brought out the trusty Nendoroid Chinese study theme playset and decorated with extra Re-ment items. The teacup is a Chinese style cup from my local teashop, on top of a handmade coaster by Quel.
Despite the heavily clashing colors of blue and purple and red and orange, I’m super proud of this setup’s creativity, and love looking at all of the merch of Liu Qingge and Scum Villain I have gathered over the years. And at my Starscream fanart, can’t forget him! Stay tuned for the winter setup in December, I don’t even know what theme I will use by then lol.
