Finally, I have drawn Megatron from Transformers One movie, completing the set of four that only took me almost a year lol. Somehow I don’t love this one as much as the other three, but I don’t know where I could have improved, so I must admit it’s all right in the end.

With the other three characters, I chose to decorate the frame with the most obvious and logical flower choices – forget-me-nots for Optimus Prime, narcissus for Starscream, sunflowers and daisies for B-127. I didn’t really have a flower in mind for Megatron because gray flowers don’t exist, but probably a normal artist might choose white lilies (for funerals) or red spider lilies (looks awesome, also bodes death). I decided to be a different girlie and went for the white flowers from Metal Gear Solid 3 from the final Boss fight because one, they look like lilies already lol, but also because Megatron is kind of like the Boss? If you squint, the bishoujo version maybe. Then I thought surely that flower is based on a real flower species, so I looked it up and it’s commonly called “Star of Bethlehem” which has a meaning of hope and innocence and peace, the opposite of Megatron (and… Metal Gear Solid in general). I guess we’re being ironic now. But I used some line art botanical drawings found on google in order to make this related animated gif. Click on the image and open in a new tab to view the effects!

If I continue this series, I would obviously draw Elita-One next. But idk, no one likes her more than they like the others so drawing her is not really worth my time.

Anyway, I’ve been working on sewing and jewelry-making this month rather than drawing. I don’t like drawing on my tablet because the wire connecting it to the computer crosses over the drawing surface which especially annoys me as a left-hander. I guess I could partially fix by moving my computer to the left side but then my computer will be at my elbow, which was why I moved my computer to the right side in the first place. Perhaps this is a sign I should go back to painting and sketching with real media???

Nah… lol.
